The Connecticut Colony provided many firearms and a lot of gunpowder for the military and army. It was unofficially known as the "arsenal of the nation". Connecticut's natural resources provided them with the start of industrialization. The cities and towns joined together through organized transportation. Connecticut began moving away from manual labor towards manufacturing. Connecticut also had a lot of debt from the war. Furthermore, cheaper British goods were being sold that resulted in factories to shut down. Although Connecticut was struggling during these times, it was not as bad as colonies that depended on agriculture because of Connecticut's "developed shipping businesses and promising industrial sector".
